Free Mathematical Resources


Learning math online is not always easy! Luckily there are some great resources (Math Websites) for practicing, learning and teaching mathematics virtually. I have gathered a list of teacher-approved math websites that can help students to improve their math skills or take their math skills to the next level. In addition to free mathematics websites, I also listed a few ACT prep site (ACT Test Prep). Click on top right corner to explore the list.

Khan Academy
Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and an individualized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. In addition to math, they also offer instructional video and dashboard in science, computer programming, history, economics and more. The company mission is to guide learners from kindergarten to calculus. A wonderful FREE resource for K-12 students and beyond.
Math is Fun
It is a British website with lots of clear and concise information about math topics. The site contains lots of information related to mathematics presented in a fun and attractive way. As you can see from the site name (Math is Fun), they explained mathematics in a more fun and visual way. By visiting this website, you will get interest in math and you will realize that this subject is really not a dull one. It's a wonderful FREE resource for K-12 students and beyond.
IXL
IXL present more than 7,000 practice modules on Common Core Pre-K through high school math. It also includes language arts, science, and social studies for second through eighth graders. Kids repetitively practice one lesson at a time, earning certificates and virtual awards that reflect their favorite animals, foods, and hobbies for completing work, and they get step-by-step explanations for inaccurate answers. Almost a FREE resource for K-12 students.
MathAntics
All the videos on this website are available for free and are great for introducing or reinforcing math concepts for students. They can be used as a whole-class introduction to a lesson or with a specific student who may be struggling with certain skills. These resources are available for FREE for some lessons, but most are accessible only with a $20-per-year subscription.

Illustrative Mathematics is a non-profit organization committed to creating a world where learners know, use, and enjoy mathematics. Illustrative math has aligned and engaged resources that are available for FREE to everyone. They have divided their resources into following three sections:

Geo Gebra
GeoGebra is an interactive geometry, algebra, statistics and calculus application, intended for learning and teaching mathematics and science from primary school to university level. It's a FREE dynamic mathematics software package used by teachers of mathematics in classrooms across the world. It joins geometry, algebra, tables, graphing, statistics and calculus in one easy-to-use package. It helps students solve problems and check for solutions.
Math Words
Math words is an interactive math dictionary with enough math words, math terms, math formulas, pictures, diagrams, tables, and examples to satisfy your inner math nerd. The website is designed for math students who need an easy-to-use, easy-to-understand math resource all in one place. It is a comprehensive listing of formulas and definitions from beginning algebra to calculus. It's a wonderful FREE resource for middle and high school students.
Math TV
This wonderful website includes thousands of videos that cover topics from basic math through high school calculus. The site also offers free worksheets with additional problems and sells textbooks to match the videos. The idea in these videos is quite simple: you watch a teacher solve math problems on the whiteboard. It's like sitting in a classroom and listening to your teacher. The videos are offered completely FREE of charge online.
Patrick JMT
An excellent math resource with tons of vidoes on tons of topics. Please scroll down their home page to find out your favirate math section. Patrick JMT also have a YouTube channel where you can find most of the pre recorded vidoes: Free Math Videos.
The site offers FREE recorded vidoes in eight sections as such; Algebra, Arithmatic, Calculus, Differential Equation, Linear Algebra, Discrete Math, Probability, Statistics and Trigonometry.
PBS Math Club
Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) math club brings math concepts to life through interactive games, animations and engaging media resources. The contents can be filtered by grade, type and popularity. A wonderful FREE. resource for K-12 students.

Math Planet
Math Planet is an online resource where one can study and practice math for completely free. Math Planet is a Swedish non for profit member organization. The purpose of the site is to promote equal knowledge acquisition and to increase knowledge and interest in mathematics and other STEM related subjects. They offer FREE courses in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry.
They have also prepared practice tests for the SAT and ACT.
Physics Classroom
The Physics Classroom is an online, free to use physics website developed primarily for beginning physics students and their teachers. The Physics Classroom Tutorial is among the most popular sections of the website. The Tutorial covers basic physics topics using informative graphics and an easy-to-understand language. The Physics Classroom provides help for teachers. It's packed with classroom-ready and teacher-friendly resources. A great FREE resource in all types physics.
